Bodyterranean

Bodyterranean is a groundbreaking ensemble of greek and italian performers, led by Simone Mongelli, that highlights the most primal musical instrument: the human body itself. The performance blurs the boundaries between music, song, dance, and theatre. It speaks the universal language of the body’s rhythm and is expressed through voice and movement. In Bodyterranean, Mediterranean musical tradition meets the present day; songs become motion and rhythm. Bodies and voices tell stories of love, exile, motherhood, diversity, of joys and sorrows—before which all people and all cultures stand equal. The songs in this performance—stripped down and unarmed, in their purest form—tell stories that erase differences and cry out for equality and peace.
