One Hundred Miles

Marking the centenary of one of the most influential figures in jazz history, One Hundred Miles is a tribute concert honouring the life and legacy of Miles Davis, trumpeter, composer, and musical innovator. At the heart of this project lies Birth of the Cool, the landmark recording that reshaped jazz. Under the musical direction and arrangements of local trumpet player Alex Bezzina, the concert reimagines this music through fresh interpretations that not only pay homage to the original but also journey across the many genres Davis would later transform, from modal and post bop to fusion and beyond. Guided by the spirit of Davis’s constant innovation and forward thinking artistry, this performance celebrates not only the man and his music, but also his enduring influence on how we hear, play, and reinvent jazz today.
