Acclaimed conductor Wolfram Christ leads the MPO in a vibrant journey through Classical elegance and charm. Paisiello’s sprightly overture to Il Barbiere di Siviglia sets the stage for Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto in A Major, a masterpiece of lyrical warmth and sublime grace, performed by Alessandro Carbonare, principal clarinettist of the Santa Cecilia Orchestra. Nicknamed the “Little C-Major”, Schubert’s Symphony No. 6 follows with its vibrant energy and melodic brilliance, seamlessly blending the Classical form with the emerging warmth and expressiveness of the Romantic era.
